 Guidance and counseling are two closely interrelated concepts and each determines the availability and efficiency of the other. They have become an integral part of human life. Guidance in simple terms means to direct or provide assistance to someone who needs help. It involves making an individual aware of his capabilities and skills. It is a process that helps an individual to make the right decisions in various aspects of life so that a balanced development of the individual can be facilitated.

COPE is an NGO that provides both counseling and guidance through our team of specialized counselors and special educators.

COPE follows the American School Counselor Association Ethical Standards as a guide of it’s work because COPE believes that school counselors are advocates, leaders, collaborators and consultants who create systemic change by providing equitable programs and services to children, adolescents and adults, it also believes in maintaining a high standards of integrity, leadership, and professionalism.

COPE holds a number of values that are implemented in every service and program it applies:

 COPE’S vision is To create a healthy school environment for children and youth so they can achieve the utmost of their abilities and to develop human beings as supreme value in order to build a more empowered educational and aware society, we also aim for capacity building and addressing social, cultural, psychological and educational challenges. 

1. To build psychological resilience and maintain mental health for children and adolescents.
2. Develop coping skills with cultural, social, psychological changes in Lebanon.
3. Create a safe place for children and adolescents to express themselves.
4. Provide social and psychological support and consultation to families and teachers.
5. Provide professional consultations to school’s administrations through conducting assessments  and analysis for school’s needs to counselling programs.
6. Provide career counselling and programs in addition to professional training (writing a professional resume (CV), college applications, job interviews preparation…) as well as continuous follow up and consultation.
7. Ensure a healthy inclusive school environment for students with special needs.
8. Conduct awareness programs, annual counselling plans, and professional training.
9. Provide supervision for counselors to enhance their counseling skills.
